The #1 Thing Killing Your Business

If you're stuck and you can't get to the next level in your business, there's a very good chance it comes down to your communication. A lot of times, in your life, in your business, your language shapes and reveals your life. It also shapes and reveals your business.

Start to communicate with people more real, more raw, more not hiding anything, no agenda, telling them your intentions. So that people know how to support you.

Everybody has ideas. your ideas are very rarely unique. Your goals and dreams are very rarely unique. Other people have ambitions too, other people have dreams too.

People appreciate real, raw, transparent and just even a little bit of a vulnerability. When you can do that, when you can be fearless in your communication, it is amazing how much more powerful you become.

Start to communicate at a higher level and you will watch your business transform before your very eyes.

Hi everybody! Welcome to this edition of find away TV! Today we're going to talk about one thing that could be killing your business and how to overcome that.
Stay tuned, sit back, and relax. And I hope you enjoyed this edition of find away TV.

(We can be all that much better (better). Do you know somebody who has a lot of talent but doesn't do anything with it? This ability to influence... Make that happen. What is possible for you is endless, what's stopping you is just an illusion.)

Are you stuck in a rut not able to get to the next level? Are you in this place with your business where you're like "God I just can't seem to get the next level." "I can't seem to make more sales" "I can't seem to get my marketing to line up" "I can't seem to get my team behind me to push and and support the mission."

What is going on there? You know I had an interesting conversation with a good friend of mine. When you do a coaching session with me as a friend, one-on-one, and usually (you know) friend coaching isn't really the way to get somebody to do something, cuz somebody needs to be committed in order to take action, but I said "You know what? Let's do it. Let's go to lunch. Let's have a little conversation about what you could do to improve your business."

And as I started to ask right, this guy is one of the number one title reps in the state. Like he is really really good. He's number two actually and he's like "I just can't seem to get to number one. How come I can't get to number one?" and I said "Look, I've known you for a long time man, and there's something that I got to tell you that nobody else on your team is going to tell you, that nobody (none of) your clients are going to tell you. (And) I'm going to share this with you watching this video right now. I'm going to tell you the same thing I told him. I'm going to tell you what most likely other people in your life, other people in your business have not just manned up and owned it to tell you what the heck is going on.

And here's where it is: If you're stuck and you can't get to the next level in your business, there's a very good chance it comes down to your communication. I told this buddy of mine and said "Hey, here's the deal. I don't know if you know this, but you communicate like crap. You kind of like, when you decide, you have like this agenda all the time. And you can see, I can see when you're like talking to me, we're talking other people, you always have this hidden agenda back here, that you don't just come out and be real and truthful with and go 'this is what I'm doing' and because of that hiding, it kills your communication and people don't trust you. And the reason you're even at the level you're at right now is because you're such a badass, that you can move through all that, but the next level for you is communication. Because there's a few things yet going on. It's like, well the presentations aren't going as well as they could be. "What is that?" That's communication. "Well my team is starting to do like weird things on their own." "What is that?" That's communication. That's a lack of communication going on. A lot of times, which you've to understand, in your life, in your business, your language shapes and reveals your life. It shapes and reveals your life. It also shapes and reveals your business. And so, when you are communicating at a high level it's tough to make sales. When you're not communicating very clearly and very influential, it's very tough to get a team to move in the right direction towards the mission.

Also, the other thing that (you know) something I wasn't able to bring up on this video is, when you're not communicating well, you don't even know what the heck you think about the situation. You know, a lot of times we go into situations, like, (you know) "I got to make sure I position myself right" "I got to make sure I do this" "Got to make sure I do that" Here's what I would request, what I would invite you to take on, is that you start to communicate with people more real, more raw, more not hiding anything, no agenda, telling them your intentions. So that people know how to support you. Right? So you have this goal. You have this agenda but you hide it from everybody. And it causes people to: A and number 1 goes "with this person's hiding something from me, they're up to something";
but then number 2, they don't know how to freaking support you in that. Right? So you've got this whole goal over here, this whole agenda that you want to accomplish. And you're going into the conversation not being transparent and now they: A- they think you're up to something and B- they don't even know how to support you. I'm blown away how people will be like "I got this great marketing
idea" or "I got this goal that I want to do but I don't want to share with anybody. I'm going to hide it." What? That's going to look "somebody might steal it". Just so you know, ideas are junk. (you know) Everybody has ideas. I've got friends that would be multi Multi multi multi millionaires if they just execute it on one of the ideas they come up with in the past, but what they do? They don't share. They just go "I'm not going to tell anybody" and so what ends up happening somebody else is going to come up with that idea too. I hate to tell you but your ideas are very rarely unique. Your goals and dreams are very rarely unique. Other people have ambitions too, other people have dreams too.

What I would invite you to do, is be completely transparent. Share success. Share your goals. Share your dreams. Share what you're up to. In the communication be completely transparent and watch your
business transform. (I got) I want to get this through to you on this video right here that your communication is killing your business. If you can raise the level of your communication, like there's usually Keystone triggers, right? Like in your business there's (you know), you dial in a marketing campaign or (you know) you have some kind of sales presentation that takes it to the next level. This is that for you. You take on communication, communicating on a higher level. Being better, more influential with your communication, be more transparent and you are going to go to the next level. (Because) you know what people hate? People hate fake. People hate when people aren't real. (and) You know what people appreciate, especially in today's economy? They appreciate real, raw, transparent and just even a little bit of a vulnerability. When you can do that, when you can be fearless in your communication, I think there's a book called "fierce conversations", even talking a little bit about this, when you can be fearless in your communication, it is amazing how much more powerful you
become. I noticed this recently. I've noticed that like, when I'm just transparent and real and raw with my communication. I just say what everybody was thinking but wouldn't say anyway. Immediately I gain the power. It's the same for you. When you get transparent, when you get fearless with your communication, you automatically adopt the power in any situation. So, I want to invite you to raise your level of communication, to raise your level of being real and raw and authentic and transparent, and just let people know what you're up to instead of trying to have an agenda that "oh I'm going to try to pull this off" and "I don't want anybody else's know what's going on" "I'm going to try to pull this off". Let that go, okay? And start to communicate at a higher level and you will watch your business transform before your very eyes, okay?
